Adopt a Dog in Need
Meet our beautiful dogs. Thank you for your interest in adopting!
Bella
Terriers (Medium), ,Meet Bella! This 6-and-a-half-year-old Terrier blend weighs 25 lbs. Are you looking for a loving and loyal companion to stay by your side throughout the day? Bella is your gal!
- General Behavior: Bella is a happy and easygoing pooch that loves her human with all her heart! She is content as long as her human is around, and she has a comfy blanket to snooze on. She is quite gentle and laid-back, making her a wonderful addition to a loving household.
- Likes & Dislikes: Beautiful Bella is a huge foodie! She enjoys munching on carrots, dog treats, and dental chews. She gets excited when she sees her treats and will wiggle her butt and tail in pure glee. Bella does not like when her humans leave her at home and gets quite sad. She'd much rather spend time with her family, getting snuggles, than be alone.
- Training: This happy girl has good basic manners and walks well on a leash. She does well with her housetraining when let out frequently. At night, she is content sleeping in her comfy dog bed until morning.
- Medical: Bella is currently on medication to help control her anxiety, especially when left home alone. The cost of this medication is approximately $8 per month. She also takes daily Apoquel for allergies, costing approximately $90 per month. Aside from this, Bella is a healthy pooch that will just require her monthly heartworm and flea preventative.
- Other Animals: Bella very much prefers her humans over any canine friends. She would do best in a home with no other dogs. She has not been introduced to any cats at this time.
- Children: Bella is a gentle girl, even when playing! She would make a great addition to a family with children.
- Home: Bella will require a single-family home without any directly connected neighbors. Due to her frequently vocalizing her dislike for being left alone, it would be best that Bella have a family that is home more often than not, that can provide her with the love, comfort, and attention that she deserves and craves.
- Grooming: As a short-haired pooch, Bella will not require frequent grooming, other than regular baths and nail trims.
- Overall: Bella is a sweet and happy girl with so much love to give to her people. A person looking for a loyal and laid-back companion would be a perfect fit for Bella!

Bernese Mountain Dog, Poodles (All Types),Meet Bing! This 2-and-a-half-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog-Poodle blend weighs 65 lbs. Bing, or as his friends call him, Binky, is an absolute sweetie who brings so much joy into the lives of each and every person that he meets!
- General Behavior: Bing is a happy and playful pooch! He can take some time to become comfortable in new environments, but once he is, he is a bouncy, active, and affectionate guy!
- Likes & Dislikes: Bouncy Bing loves to give kisses and cuddle with his humans. He enjoys spending time with his family, especially when toys are involved!
- Training: This handsome boy has good basic manners, and while he loves his walks, he is still working on his leash-walking skills. He does well with his housetraining when kept to a consistent schedule and is overall a very smart and fast learner.
- Medical: Bing is a healthy pup and will just require his monthly heartworm and flea prevention, like any other dog.
- Other Animals: Bing loves to play with other dogs and would thrive in a home with another. He will require a home without cats.
- Children: Bing LOVES to jump up and give hugs, and while we’re happy he’s happy, we try to discourage this behavior. He could easily knock over young kiddos; therefore, a home without young children is required. Older children (8+) would be okay.
- Home: Playful and energetic Bing would thrive in an active home with a family that can offer him lots of activity and mental stimulation. Having humans that are home more often than not, along with a canine friend to keep him company, are a must!
- Grooming: As a Poodle blend, Bing requires regular grooming every 8 weeks or so to keep his coat in tip-top shape. The cost of grooming for a pup of his breed and size is approximately $90+. Any potential applicants should be aware of this recurring expense.
- Overall: Bing is a happy pooch full of so much joy! He is sure to bring loads of happiness into his forever home.
Are you the one for Bing? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with his foster family if it’s a match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption donation is $500.
show lessBrutus
Terrier (Unknown Type, Small), ,Meet Brutus! This 2-year-old Shih Tzu blend weighs approximately 16 lbs and is ready for snuggles galore!
- General Behavior: Brutus is very hesitant around strangers but, given time, he bonds very closely with his person. He will soon be snuggling up on the couch and wanting nothing more than chin scratches and toys!
- Likes & Dislikes: Brutus is a huge fan of squeaky toys. He often contents himself with chewing and throwing them around, though he will be open to the occasional tug of war. He’s a smart boy who would be great at snuffle mats or puzzle toys to keep his youthful energy occupied. He is not a fan of strangers approaching him and will try to tug away from them, so slow introductions are a must.
- Training: Like many pups from hoarding situations, Brutus has never truly been on a leash. However, he is surprisingly great on one and doesn’t tug at all! He only attempts to get away when strangers approach him, so he does need to be leashed at all times and any owner must keep an eye on him and not rush him into interactions. He is also learning that shoes and other random items are not toys, so his new family should commit to continuing this training. Brutus is potty trained when let out on a schedule.
- Medical: Brutus is a healthy boy! He just needs his monthly flea and heartworm preventatives.
- Other Animals: Brutus would be fine as an only dog OR the sibling to a low energy pup. He needs a pup who will allow him time to get used to his new home and not rush him into playing. He is a bit overly interested in cats, so might not be a great fit for a feline who isn’t well versed in a dog best friend.
- Children: Most likely, Brutus needs a home with children 12+, as he does get scared when approached too quickly or is tugged on/forced into interactions.
- Home: Brutus will need a single family home. He’s never known what it’s like to be alone, so he does often cry/bark when left to himself. He’s a small boy who doesn’t necessarily need a yard to run around in, though he would enjoy one if possible!
- Grooming: Brutus has a wiry coat that will need occasional grooms, along with nail trims and bathing.
- Overall: Brutus is SUCH a love bug when finding his person and is ready to give all his cuddles to the perfect forever family
Is that someone you? Brutus would love to love you! To find the application to adopt, visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org. His adoption donation is $450.
