Rescue of Seized Dogs

March 15, 2024 – Today we are taking in 25-30 dogs from a group of 200 dogs that were seized from an Interlachen residence on Wednesday by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and Putnam County Animal Control. Once they arrive later today at our vet partner, we’ll know more about their conditions. Some are in bad shape, some have large masses, and some are pregnant. All of the pups will be getting full exams, basic tests like fecal and heartworm checks, full sets of vaccinations, spays and neuters, dentals, and other medical treatments.

We’ll treat the most urgent dogs and their needs first, and then space out the spays, neuters, and dentals based on the pups’ overall health and the availability of our vetting partners.

What we need now are donations to cover the mountain of medical expenses that will be building up. Special needs dogs like these will not only need a lot of medical attention, but also the time to decompress and learn that they are now safe, loved, and will not be neglected again.

If you would like to donate to their vetting needs, you can click on the yellow “Donate Now” button at the top of the page, donate via PayPal at give2ppr.com, donate via Venmo @Poodleand-PoochRescue, or mail a check to Poodle and Pooch Rescue 1742 S Woodland Blvd. #428 DeLand, FL 32720.

Keep an eye on our web site and our social media where we will have updates as we learn more.

As usual, thank you all for your support in helping us welcome these precious souls to Poodle and Pooch where we can get them the care they need! Stay tuned for lots of updates on the dogs in the coming weeks.
