Teresa W. has been a dedicated Poodle and Pooch Rescue volunteer since January 2023, though her connection to the rescue began years earlier when she adopted Willy, a Yorkie mix, in 2015. Helping animals has been a lifelong passion for Teresa, and she quickly stepped into key roles with the organization.
Teresa serves as a Foster Coordinator, where she supports foster families by helping place dogs, answering questions, coordinating care, and ensuring both dogs and fosters have what they need to succeed. She is also a vital member of PPR’s donor team, keeping sponsors closely connected to the dogs they support through thoughtful updates from intake to the joyful “I’m home” message.
An Orlando native who works full time, Teresa has a soft spot for senior dogs and shares her home with Coco, a 10-year-old feisty Chihuahua, and Luka, a foster-fail Shih Tzu-Maltese mix.
“There’s always another dog that needs help. I’m just one of those people who volunteers because I feel compelled to do something.” – Teresa
