Amy

Amy has been an advocate for animals as long as she can remember.  She joined the our team in 2014 and sits on PPR’s board as our Vice President.  Amy fosters some of PPR’s toughest cases, be it a medically needy hospice dog or a dog with fear or temperament concerns, Amy is an expert at providing them with everything they need to feel love and comfort while in her care.  Amy has her own rescued dogs and also has several rescued sheep that she and her husband, Tom, have welcomed to their family.

“My favorite part of volunteering is taking the neglected, abandoned and broken (both physically and emotionally) and showing them love and kindness.  Then watching them blossom and be adopted by wonderful families, knowing that they will never have to suffer again.  I love being a part of the dog’s journey to a better life.  Rescue is in my blood.  I have volunteered with so many rescues/shelters over the years and I can’t imagine my life without it.  I am so fortunate to have found PPR when I moved from Pennsylvania to Florida in 2014.  PPR is by far one of the best rescues that I have ever been a part of and I am very proud to be on this team of wonderful, smart and caring volunteers.  I wish there wasn’t such an overwhelming need to help so many dogs, but as long as there is I am happy that I am part of the best group that does the most for the dogs most in need.” – Amy M.
