Proud Recipient of Grey Muzzle Grant

We are thrilled to share that thanks to a generous 2024 grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization, we will be able to rescue even more senior dogs and help them find their forever homes.

The number of dogs who need our help is constantly growing, and of course we have a soft spot for older dogs who are harder to place.

Dogs like 10-year-old Snoopy.

Snoopy came into our care back in March after he was surrendered to Osceola Animal Services.  It was obvious Snoopy was neglected in his previous home. He was matted and his hair was so long that you couldn’t even see his eyes. And he had no teeth, which is why this cutie’s tongue is always hanging out the side of his mouth.

Despite his challenges, Snoopy is the happiest little boy. When his foster picked him up from the vet, he ran right to her and jumped into her arms. It’s hard to believe that this playful guy is a senior pooch.

At first, Snoopy was terrified every time his foster mom left the house, no doubt worried she wouldn’t come back. It wasn’t easy at first, but in just four months, his transformation is amazing. He and his foster mom have a tight bond, and he knows he will never be abandoned.

Snoopy loves lounging in his comfy bed, greeting visitors with sloppy kisses and gobbling up his meals. He’s a senior with spunk!

Snoopy is just one of many senior dogs who have gotten new lives, thanks to our volunteers and grants from The Grey Muzzle Organization.

Poodle and Pooch is one of 100 animal welfare groups chosen from nearly 400 applicants to receive a grant to help local senior dogs and the people who love them. The winning groups are sharing more than $1 million in grants to help save and improve the lives of at-risk old dogs in their communities.“We are so grateful for our partnership with The Grey Muzzle Organization,” Poodle and Pooch  board member Mary Beth Russell says. “For six years in a row, with their support, we’ve been able to help even more senior dogs find their forever homes.”
