Throughout Petal’s recovery, we’ve been working behind the scenes to find her the perfect home. We preferred not to send her to a foster home, only to move her again to a forever home – we wanted Petal to transition straight to her new home for good.
We were inundated with requests to adopt her – she was a popular girl and she tugged at many heartstrings. Early on, there was one family that really stood out. They were so invested in Petal and wanted to do anything they could to make her feel special and loved. We just knew it was meant to be!
Derick and Brad have all the time, love, experience and the means to care for Petal and provide her with the home she deserves. They’ve followed her journey, stayed in contact for regular updates and cheered her on from afar while they anxiously awaited the news that she was cleared to leave the hospital so they could pick her up and bring her home.
Lucky Petal joins her new siblings, Cash and Annie, also seniors who have welcomed Petal with open paws. Annie is blind too, so Cash acts as a seeing eye dog for his golden girls. Derick, Brad, Annie and Cash couldn’t wait to meet Petal and make her part of their family.
After suffering from unfathomable torture and neglect, Petal finally has a life full of gentle hands, comfort and peace. Be it months or years, Petal will know nothing but love for the rest of her days and we couldn’t be happier about that.
Thank you, Brad and Derick, for opening your home and your hearts to this special girl in need. We wish this world was full of humans like you!
