Wendy was a backyard breeder’s dog that came into PPR care in awful shape: she was filthy dirty, had an atrocious mouth, was incredibly nervous but very sweet. PPR’s vets attended to all of her medical issues, and her foster parents provided her with lots of love and attention to help her adjust to life as a valued pet rather than neglected livestock. Now Wendy has a new life and a new name, Wendy. Adopters Sharon and John met Annie and instantly fell in love for the sweet girl. Wendy is still a bit skittish and fearful due to her former life circumstances, but Sharon and John are completely dedicated to helping her overcome her fears and live the fullest, happiest life possible. She now lives in the Villages, one of Florida’s most dog-friendly communities with lots of social opportunities for dogs and their owners. At home Wendy absolutely loves playing with toys and has recently mastered the stairs to get up onto the couch and into the people bed at nighttime. She even has a new canine fur brother, Spencer, to keep her company. Wendy finally is finally living the life every dog should, with a family that cherishes her and treats her as a valued member of the family.
