Raisin is tiny Yorkshire Terrier mix that came into PPR care from an overcrowded local animal shelter. Upon intake she was determined to be approximately 10 months old and 7 lbs; it was noted that she had a slight limp but handled the veterinary exam well and was placed into foster care. The foster also noticed the limp, and alerted the vetting team when she felt that the limp was becoming more pronounced. Raisin again handled the vet exam very well, but the team decided to do an x-ray and determined the tiny girl did indeed have a broken bone – at the point the team knew that Raisin was one tough cookie! The vetting team performed her surgery and again sent back home with her foster family. After so much time caring and nursing the sweet girl back to health, the family knew that they could not let this little gem go. Raisin is now enjoying life to the fullest and is very much in love with her human sibling. Welcome home, Raisin!
