Duchess is a middle aged Pekingese mix that was abandoned, tied to a pole in front of a local animal shelter. Surprisingly, she was microchipped; when the owner was contacted by the shelter, they said they did not want her. PPR took her into care, where her new life was about to begin. The shelter brought Duchess’s vaccinations up to date before transferring her to PPR care; PPR’s veterinary team discovered she had not been spayed and had crusty ears. She developed a reputation for being a bit sassy when restrained, but leave her to her own devices she is a very sweet girl. The veterinary team took care of Duchess’s ears and spayed her so she could continue on her rescue odyssey. Adopter Stacy is a vet tech and met Duchess early on in her PPR journey and fell in love with her at first sight. Stacy is not shy with special needs dogs and senior pups are her specialty…Duchess is in the perfect place. Welcome home, Duchess!
