Dixie had been placed into a permanent home by PPR; unfortunately, her owner passed and Dixie was again in need. But PPR believes once a PPR dog, always a PPR dog, and took her back into care. She is a senior Cavalier King Charles mix that is deaf, visually impaired, has arthritis and a significant heart murmur. PPR designated Dixie as a permanent resident and placed her into foster care with Dolly and Ron. Dolly and Ron are very active with PPR and have a soft spot for senior dogs in need.. Dixie loves to go for walks, but due to her arthritis they can’t be very long. No problem, Dolly and Ron take her for short jaunts around the cul-de-sac in the morning and evening, and it’s the perfect distance. Dixie has learned to bark for the things she needs and her foster mom and dad have learned what each bark means…it’s kind of like learning a new language, but they are communicating so Dixie gets what she needs. Sleeping is one of her favorite activity with lots of snoring to keep her humans awake at night. And when the grandkids come to visit, everyone loves on Dixie and Dixie loves on them. So, this happily ever after story is now a reality and Dixie is living the life she was meant to live. Welcome home, Dixie!
