Astor is a senior, blind Maltese that was surrendered at a local animal shelter by an owner that could no longer care for her. The owner had reportedly been ill for quite some time and Astor was not in good shape: he was heartworm positive, his hair was filthy and matted, and he had severely infected ears. As always, PPR’s veterinary team attended to all of his medical needs and his foster family gave him lots of TLC and time to heal. Megan and her family were looking for a companion dog, and Astor was the perfect choice. This blind boy is more than happy to hitch a ride on Megan’s wheelchair so they can enjoy the world together. The whole family is madly in love with Astor, and we are beyond confident he has an awesome life to look forward to, with all the joys of a warm home, a loving family and a sense of security.
