Kiwi, now known as Rainey, did not have the easiest start to life. She came to us from a backyard breeder at the age of four, her milk still drying up from her last litter of puppies. With zero training and zero socialization, she was very shy and timid and needed a family to help her learn how to enjoy life as a family dog.
We recently heard from Rainey’s forever family, who adopted her about a year and a half ago. They shared that Rainey is truly “a gift from heaven” for the whole family.
“When we adopted her, she came to our house scared but quickly bonded with our other dogs. Over the course of a few months, we worked on building her confidence and saw her little personality come to life. About five months after we adopted her, the quarantine for the pandemic started. I don’t know how we would’ve made it without her little joyful attitude around the house. When we were sad or scared, she always brought laughter and happiness to our family. Our three daughters have also really bonded with her. Our middle daughter was scared of dogs, but has fallen madly in love with Rainey and now her fear of animals is gone. But the most joyful thing for me is to watch my husband carry his little tiny baby doggy girl around! We just want to say thank you so much for rescuing her so that she could be a part of our family.”
