Volunteer Spotlight – Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn has been fostering for Poodle and Pooch since 2020. She moved to Orlando from Boston and wanted to start fostering dogs. She found PPR online, loved our mission and how hands on fosters get to be with adopters, and she was sold! Kaitlyn has fostered nine dogs for us and has a real knack for preparing the more challenging to adopt dogs for their forever homes….dogs that have come from hoarding situations and are terrified of people or dogs that will only allow affection on their own terms and don’t want every day cuddles. These dogs need a very special foster mom because they are generally much longer term fosters and take time to rehabilitate.

About fostering, Kaitlyn says, “I just love seeing how a dog grows when they realize they’re safe, that humans are capable of love. It’s so rewarding to see a scared pup finally open up and give you their personality and trust.”

Thank you, Kaitlyn, for opening your heart and your home to dogs in need and showing them what it’s like to be loved!

Outside of volunteering, Kaitlyn is a freelance editor and works from home with her two cats and Corgi mix, Topher. She and her husband like to visit the local theme parks or find new fun spots to eat around town.
