Faiza joined PPR two years ago and was completely new to dog rescue. She and her husband had just lost their little 16 year old toy poodle, Jasmin, and because she gave them so much comfort, love, and great companionship, they felt they just had to give back somehow. Faiza says they are so glad that they found PPR because she thinks that PPR rescued them!
Faiza and her husband foster dogs, transport dogs and also help with some of the PPR community events. She says she has learned so much by volunteering with PPR, and she’s so happy to be even a small part of our volunteer team, who she calls hard-working, dedicated, and very supportive. Faiza says every PPR volunteer she’s interacted with is a gem – from the board members to the foster coordinators to her fellow foster parents. She says she feels honored to be able to contribute to the rehabilitation and rehoming of these beautiful and innocent dogs.
When asked about her favorite part of volunteering with PPR, Faiza says she especially enjoys the challenge and reward of the psychological rehabilitation cases. She’s sure that some of these pups would not want to put their traumatic stories into words, even if they could. “I consider it to be a privilege to be able to see their personality unfold while in foster care. From the thick layers of an onion to the delicate petals of a sweet rose, they reveal their heart on their terms, and when they do, it feels like the most precious gift anyone can receive.”
Thank you Faiza, for volunteering with us and making a difference in the lives of dogs in need! #volunteering #rescuedogs #fosteradogtoday #givingback #volunteerappreciation
