Volunteer Spotlight – Allison

Allison is coming up on her one year anniversary with us. She was volunteering at Orange County Animal Services (OCAS) and absolutely loved it, but she had limited time during the work day so she started looking for a way to volunteer in dog rescue, something that she could do from home after hours. She started following PPR on social media when we saved one of her favorite OCAS babies, Swan, and she saw all of the great work we were doing. She reached out to us offering to volunteer and the rest is history!

Allison is on our Donor Team and she keeps our “Save A Dog” page on the PPR website updated each time we take in a new dog. The donor team is a great fit for her because all she needs is a laptop and she can help anytime from anywhere. She loves being able to learn about every dog that PPR helps. When she first started she was shocked at the volume of dogs that PPR rescues! She really admires the amazing support that we receive from the community.

Allison always loved and had family dogs growing up. Her current dog is Cinnamon, who she adopted from OCAS. Cinnamon has helped her learn so much about dog behavior and is really the reason that she got into volunteering. She truly cherishes the time she gets to spend with shelter dogs, whether it’s playing with them, taking them on a walk, teaching them new tricks, or just helping them be more comfortable and confident. She takes a special liking to some of the more “challenging” dogs that need a little more TLC.

Allison and her husband live in the Orlando area and she works for Disney as a Manager of Industrial Engineering. In their free time they love spending time at the parks.

Thank you Allison, for volunteering with us and contributing to the team. You are making a difference in the lives of dogs in need!
