September is Pet Pain Awareness Month

PPR primarily takes in senior and special needs dogs. Often after their surgeries are done and their bones have been knitted back together, they need help regaining strength and mobility as well as managing the pain often associated with using body parts that haven’t been used in a while.

That’s where our friends at Florida Veterinary Rehabilitation come in. Dr. Mason (in the photo with PPR pup Simone) and her team work with our pups doing stretching exercises, balance and strengthening work, water work, and acupuncture. They are the final step between surgery and a forever home.

We are thankful for our amazing community of support. From donors and sponsors, to our transport and admin teams, foster coordinators and foster families, and our vetting partners – each one plays an important role in the lives of our pups and for that, we are eternally grateful.
