Can you believe this is the same dog? Little Humphrey came in to PPR showing signs of prolonged neglect. He was scrawny and underweight, his coat was very thin and coarse, he needed an immediate dental because his mouth was terrible, and he was anemic (likely due to the fact that he was covered in fleas when we got him). He also had low thyroid levels, was full of parasites, and had a bad UTI. He didn’t deserve to be suffering like this.
The day he came into PPR is the day he would start his new life. No longer would this sweet senior boy have to worry about being neglected, alone or hungry. We treated his parasites and severe skin infection, gave him a dental, started him on a healthy diet along with supplements and vitamins, and sent him to an amazing foster home. Multiple meals a day, meds to help him feel better, and a soft fuzzy bed were just what the doctor ordered. Add in a doting foster mom and we knew that Humphrey’s future looked bright.
We are happy to report that Humphrey eventually healed and found a great forever home. As you can see in his after picture, he’s finally at his ideal weight. “Leftover” dogs like Humphrey are worth saving!
