You may remember Lizzy, the pregnant pooch with a broken leg pulled from a GA shelter by our president, Rebecca Lynch. Lizzy ended up giving birth in the backseat with Rebecca watching and cheering her on. Looks like we got Lizzy just in time! As we celebrate one year since that fateful day, here is what her forever mama (Rebecca) has to say.
“It was one year ago this week when we were on our way home from a long weekend in Savannah and scooped up Lizzy. My very tolerant husband allowed us to stop and rescue a needy dog before we left. Lizzy was in a high kill shelter, pregnant, heartworm positive with a broken back leg. She gave birth in her car seat on our way back to Florida . It was a day I’ll never forget.
All of her pups went to amazing homes when they were ready – they’re healthy, loved and spoiled rotten. Lizzy stayed put, of course. She’s a Lynch and we love her to pieces. She and our Poodle, Cooper, are best pals and she has really taken a liking to our 4 yr old niece, Lilly, they have a special friendship .
Please, if you’re considering adding to your family, check out local shelters and rescues. Every breed, every age, every size is out there waiting for a home.“
