Poodle And Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3, non profit organization in the Central Florida area. Our EIN# is 26-3448560. We are an organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the “leftovers” from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they’re older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their “last” day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they’re ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical location because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 6,200 dogs since 2008.
The mission of Poodle and Pooch Rescue (PPR) is to save as many “leftover” dogs as possible, primarily from animal control. These are the dogs that have been passed over by adopters and other rescue groups. Usually these dogs have a special medical need, they’re seniors and/or they’re afraid because of past abuse or neglect. PPR has no paid employees and no facility. We manage and operate PPR with a network of volunteers and all of our rescue dogs live with our foster families. This allows for donations to be spent directly on dog care with very low administrative costs; 97% of our funds are spent directly on animal care: vet bills, medications, food, grooming and other animal related expenses. We formed PPR after working with other rescue groups who were competing with each other to save the same healthy, younger dogs at animal control while the eight year old in the cage next door or the dog with treatable heart worms was euthanized. We formed PPR to save the dogs that no one was fighting over or fighting for, those dogs who were out of time with no one willing to step forward to save them.
