Gizzi is a 15-year-old, 6 lb Maltese lady who came to Poodle and Pooch with numerous medical issues that required immediate attention. She was suffering from severe dental disease, skin and ear infections, anemia related to chronic disease, and bilateral hypermature cataracts that left her blind. Since entering rescue, Gizzi has received extensive medical care, including a dental procedure, treatment for her infections, ongoing management for chronic itching and allergies, and specialized care for recurrent ear infections.
Despite her many challenges, Gizzi has embraced the permanent resident life with enthusiasm. She has gained weight, regrown her beautiful coat, and keeps everyone smiling with her sweet personality and occasional dramatic flair. Gizzi is now living her golden years surrounded by comfort, love, and exceptional care.
