Lulu is home!

Sweet Shih-Tzu/Havanese mix Lulu didn’t have great start to her life – she and her sister, Priscilla, had spent most of their lives together living in a crate in an auto body shop. Neither of the girls had ever seen a veterinarian and were very unsocialized. A Good Samaritan was concerned about the dogs’ welfare and convinced the owner to surrender the pups into PPR care. Upon intake it was obvious that Lulu had been neglected – she was dirty, matted, smelly and afraid. PPR’s vetting partners attended to all of her medical needs (bringing her vaccinations up-to-date, spaying, her, cleaning her teeth and microchipping her) and then PPR placed her into foster care where she could relax and learn what it is like to be valued. Fosters Maritza and Joseph have been fostering for a while and knew that they would eventually adopt one of their charges as a companion to their dog, Lenny. Well, Lenny knew Lulu was the one for him long before the rest of the family! So now Lulu has a great new home with parents that adore her and a new best friend…she’s come a very long way from the back of body shop. Welcome home, Lulu!
