In Memoriam – Caren

Caren Gout, a dedicated volunteer and dear friend, devoted 10 years of her life to Poodle and Pooch and served as the Treasurer on our board. In August 2018, we suddenly and unexpectedly lost Caren. The loss of Caren was devastating beyond words, not only as a valuable volunteer, but as a PPR family member who was loved and admired by all who knew her. Words cannot express how deeply grateful we are to have volunteered by Caren’s side. She was a smart, savvy business woman and she truly kept PPR running like a well-oiled machine. You may not have always seen Caren at events, but believe us, she was working just as hard from her computer to keep PPR operating, ensuring that things were run ethically and seamlessly. Caren was a brilliant, selfless, kind woman who kept us organized and spent countless hours working behind the scenes because she was passionate about our cause. Caren will never be replaced because she was one in a million; we are so honored to have had her in our lives. PPR is what it is today because of Caren’s tireless efforts and dedication to saving the lives that so many turn their backs on. Caren may have left us, but she will always be with us in spirit, supporting PPR just as she always has. Today, we celebrate volunteers and those that support PPR and while Caren may not be here with us physically, we know she is watching over us and toasting us to another successful year in rescue. We love you, Caren, you are always in our hearts….
