Dena and Mike are dog lovers. Their home felt empty after they lost their beloved dog, Bernie, and decided it was time to honor him by giving another dog a “life filled with joy and love.” Their only requirement was for the new dog to be a rescue. Accompanied by their children, Isla and Cannon, they began their search and soon found Rootie. The family was love-struck. They thought he was perfect, cataracts and all.
