Penny is a 2 year old Retriever/Black Mouth Cur mix that was found in a shelter. At the shelter she was terrified to the point the staff put a crate in her kennel and draped it with a moving blanket to dampen the noise. In spite of her fear, she showed absolutely no signs of aggression. PPR’s vet team made sure she was spayed and microchipped before placing her into foster care for some much needed relaxation and TLC. When Penny arrived at her foster’s home, she had very little confidence. Her foster mother, Michaelann, worked diligently with her to gain her trust and increase her confidence. After a short time Penny was listed adoption; Michaelann really struggled with letting her go but, as all foster parents know, they are hopeful that their foster ward will move on to a better life in their own forever home. Unfortunately, the placement did not work out and she came back into Michaelann’s care. This time, though, Michaelann knew she would not be able to let her go again and officially made her home Penny’s truly fabulous forever home. Welcome home, Penny!
