Adopters Abby and James were awaiting their new puppy’s arrival when they decided that a special needs dog would round out their family perfectly. They found Maya, a sweet and bashful girl who battled and vanquished heartworm disease. Maya proved to be a delightful and loyal companion. In addition to being a big sister to her new fur brother, Maya also has a cat and two sugar gliders that she has taken under her wing. For this special little girl, life is one adventure after another!
