Maggie is another dog that came into PPR care by way of its Mexican rescue partner. She and several other puppies had found shelter in a private community where they were not necessarily welcomed; the rescue organization managed to grab the pups just before animal control arrived. Maggie was about 9 months old when she was initially examined by one of PPR’s veterinary partners. She had already been vaccinated and spayed upon arrival so she was ready to go directly into foster care with Christine and her husband, Rob, and twin 12 year-old sons. Christine was new to fostering; she had seen PPR’s Instagram post about Maggie needing a foster, and she couldn’t believe how much Maggie looked like their 3 year-old rescue dog, Rowdy. Christine contacted PPR to learn more about Maggie and fostering; ultimately Maggie decided that fostering would an excellent opportunity to see how Rowdy would get along with other dogs in the house. The family adopted Rowdy about two years ago and he had some fear issues; the family noticed, however, that Rowdy seemed to be more confident when he was around other dogs. Once they all met Maggie and took her in, it didn’t take long before they knew they were going to be her forever family. After a short adjustment period she and Rowdy became best buddies! Maggie, now known as Stella, now has a wonderful home with Christine and her family – she hit the jackpot! Welcome home, Maggie/Stella!
