Lady was a backyard breeder’s dog whose only value was as a puppy machine. She arrived in PPR care heartworm positive and pregnant. Sadly, only one pup survived, Bella. Adopter Mary started out as Lady’s foster; after seeing Lady through Bella’s birth, her subsequent spay and heartworm treatment, she could not bear to let the pair go…they had found a permanent place in Mary’s heart and home. Lady will never again be treated as only an asset, and both she and Bella will be truly cherished and loved.
