Jewel is an older Havanese mix girl that was picked up as a stray by animal control. She was never claimed and eventually landed in PPR care. She’s a sweet girl, was in generally in good health upon intake though she did have a nasty ear infection and was in desperate need of a dental. PPR’s veterinary partners attended to her medical needs and then was placed into foster care. Soon after she medically cleared, Jewel was listed for adoption on the PPR website, where she caught adopter Joan’s attention. Joan was looking for companion dog, and thought Jewel would be the ideal choice. Jewel now has a new name, Julie, to go along with her new life, where she will never be left to fend for herself ever again. Welcome home, Jewel/Julie!
