Gus was a breeder’s dog, but he adjusted very well in his foster home and was quickly listed for adoption. It did not take long for someone to fall in love with him. Linda and Ronald had recently lost their 17 year old dog and were looking to share their home again with another 4-legged companion. A home becomes very quiet…too quiet…after the loss of a beloved pet. As a retired couple, Linda and Ronald are home every day and have time to offer and plenty of love to give. That is the perfect scenario for Gus, and he took to them right away. Gus likes to explore outside, and he now has a fenced yard to check out on a routine basis. But, truthfully, Gus is mostly a little couch potato and is most satisfied to cuddle up next to his person. Gus never had those happy and playful years that every dog deserves. He never had the gentle pat on the head or the soft kisses. We can’t change the past but we can make sure that Gus has a better future. We can be sure that Gus has a place on the couch (and the human bed), good food, attention and lots of love!
