Dawn is a member of PPR’s board and has a long history in volunteering and dog rescue. In addition to being on the board, Dawn fosters, transports, assists the bio writing team, fundraises and helps organize events.
Dawn and her husband Kevin moved to FL from OH in 2021 with their rescue pup, Bauer. “Once settled, I reached out to PPR and was immediately impressed when I got a very fast response from Rebecca who was excited to welcome me as a volunteer. In OH, I was the volunteer manager for Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity so I know the importance of volunteers and making them feel welcome and needed.” Dawn was also the client services manager at Assistance Dogs of America, an organization that trains and places therapy and services dogs with individuals. “Seeing the impact dogs have on individuals has always amazed me. I’ve been around dogs my entire adult life and have volunteered at animal shelters or rescues taking photos, walking dogs or helping plan events in every state I have lived (FL being our 4th and final).” Dawn is also a hospice volunteer with Vitas Healthcare and Bauer is a “Paw Pal” too!
“I’m very excited to volunteer with PPR and share the rescue mission with anyone and everyone. I even wear my PPR tees in OH when visiting . . . people in OH may not be able to adopt from PPR, but they can still learn about PPR (and donate)!”
