PPR Wins Grant from Franklin’s Friends!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Poodle and Pooch Rescue Receives $30,000 Grant from Franklin’s Friends to Save Special Needs & Senior Dogs in Central Florida

February 10, 2021 – DeLand, FL – Poodle and Pooch Rescue (“PPR”) was awarded a grant for $30,000 from Franklin’s Friends, a leading nonprofit organization in Central Florida dedicated to raising money for animal welfare. The grant will help PPR continue to save special needs and senior dogs, give these dogs the medical treatment they need and prepare them for adoption.

“We focus on rescuing harder to place special needs dogs and senior dogs – the leftovers that were passed over by others,” said Rebecca Lynch, PPR’s President. “These dogs have a specific medical need, are older or have been abused & neglected, and take more financial resources to save. Our goal is to get these dogs healed and into loving homes, and the generosity of
Franklin’s Friends is helping us to do just that.”

The Franklin’s Friends grant will help dogs like Murphy, a 10 month old dog with severe injuries consistent with those of a bait dog. Starving and left to fend for himself on the streets, Murphy was picked up by animal control and taken to the shelter. PPR stepped up and took Murphy in, gave him the immediate medical attention he needed and placed him in a foster home. He has a long road to recovery, both physically and emotionally. In PPR’s care he’ll get all the time he needs to heal and all the love he so deserves.

“We can’t thank Franklin’s Friends enough for offering animal welfare grants to 100% volunteer organizations like PPR, so we can continue saving dogs in Central Florida,” said Rebecca Lynch.
