Gus in Recovery

Our vets were able to debride Gus’s wounds, they sutured the deep punctures on his head and applied tie-over bandaging to the large slice down the side of his body. The goal is to stretch his skin with wet-to-dry bandages applied, eventually being able to completely close his wounds with sutures. Gus won’t be able to leave anytime soon, he needs to stay at East Orlando Animal Hospital for round the clock care and monitoring. In this photo, Dr. Peters is making sure he stays comfortable, she gives him some extra attention every chance she gets. He’s lost a little weight even though he is eating frequently, Dr. P says his body is working overtime to heal and burning a lot of the calories that he consumes.

If you’re able to help with Gus’s ongoing care and hospitalization, we’re so grateful for any support you can offer. Please click the yellow “Donate Now” button at the top of the page, and be sure to notate “Gus” in the notes field. Thank you, as always!
