Meet our beautiful dogs. Thank you for your interest in adopting!
JT
Chihuahua, ,Meet JT! This 10-year-old Chihuahua blend weighs 13 lbs. JT is a gentle boy looking for a calm, child-free home, where he can receive all the snuggles and yummy snacks his heart desires.
- General Behavior: JT is a total snuggle bug once he's comfortable with you! He is sure to hop right up in your lap for those highly sought-after ear scratches, and he may even give you a peck on the cheek! He does need some time and space to feel comfortable with his people and may initially be quite timid. If given space and allowed to open up to you on his terms, he is sure to be your best friend!
- Likes & Dislikes: Having a car equipped with a special seat just for JT is of utmost importance because this little guy LOVES his car rides! He jumps right in and sits down; he doesn’t even roll his eyes when you put on an audiobook instead of the radio—he’s just along for the ride. JT does not like quick movements or to be touched or grabbed without permission. He requests the same respect he gives his humans. He does quite a bit of dancing - tap dancing for foodies, little hippity hops when he is happy, and back leg kicks when he wants to play.
- Training: JT is a polite gentleman! He has been showing off his good manners in his foster home. He walks well on a leash, is happy to be outside and moving but doesn’t pull, and is more than happy to go on a stroll around the neighborhood.
- Medical: This healthy boy will just require his monthly heartworm and flea preventative, like any other dog.
- Other Animals: JT interacts well with other dogs, though he does take a couple of days to find where exactly he fits in. Once he feels comfortable, you can find him looking for the perfect opportunity to jump into the morning cavalcade of zoomies or their mid-day wrestling match. He has not yet been introduced to any cats, but we think he would do okay given a proper introduction.
- Children: JT is not a fan of grabbing hands or quick movements. He will require a home without children. Teens are okay.
- Home: A single-family home or dog-friendly apartment living would be just fine for this sweet boy. As long as he gets his cherished car rides, and walks around the neighborhood, he is happy!
- Grooming: As a short-haired Chihuahua blend, JT will not require any elaborate grooming other than his regular bath and nail trims.
- Overall: All in all, JT is the perfect gentleman; his manners are impeccable, he’s silly, calm, and loving. He does okay with other calm dogs and simply needs a child-free home, with someone who understands that he may need a little time to settle in and let his true self show.
Are you the one for JT? Visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org, where you will find the application to adopt. You'll be put in contact with his foster family if it's a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, just had his teeth professionally cleaned, and he's neutered. His adoption donation is $250.

Pomeranian, ,Meet Koda! This 13-year-old Pomeranian weighs 10 lbs. Koda is a loyal and friendly guy who would make a wonderful furry four-legged companion!
- General Behavior: Koda is a curious boy who can often be found right by his human's side. He likes his people and is content being around them. He is laid-back and quick to steal your heart.
- Likes & Dislikes: Koda enjoys nesting in soft blankets and snuggling by your feet. He prefers to nap in whichever room his human is in and will happily sleep in his own dog bed. He is quite the curious fella and likes to sniff around outdoors too!
- Training: This sleepy senior has wonderful manners and walks well on a leash. He is overall a very polite boy.
- Medical: Koda has Lenticular Sclerosis and Cataracts, which cause a haze in both of his eyes. This is not uncommon with senior pups like himself. He gets around just fine and does not require any treatment or medications. Most of his teeth were removed due to decay, and he is on a soft diet which he does wonderfully on. Koda does require his monthly heartworm and flea preventative, like any dog.
- Other Animals: Koda interacts well with other dogs and cats. He wouldn't mind sharing a home with others.
- Children: This sweet senior needs a quiet and calm home without young children. Older children (10+) would be okay.
- Home: Koda’s ideal home would be one that is easy-going and laid-back, just like himself. He would enjoy a human that can provide him with lots of snuggles and pets in his golden years.
- Grooming: As a Pomeranian, Koda will require daily brushing along with regular baths to keep his coat healthy and clean.
- Overall: Koda is a sweet and dashing senior boy who is looking for a family that can provide him with daily pets and snuggles, along with cozy blankets for nesting. Is that you?

Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrie, ,Meet Magic Brian! This Yorkie-Doxie blend is just one year old and weighs 10 lbs. As his name suggests, this very special dog brings wonder and happiness to his people. He is looking for an equally special family who can support him and love him forever.
- General Behavior: Don’t like long walks? Neither does Magic Brian! Brian uses his front legs to get around and does not have formed back feet. When moving he walks with his front legs and hops on his back legs. When he stops he almost immediately sits. Because of his mobility issues, he is not a dog who can go on long walks but he is happy being carried or in a puppy sling. This easy-going guy is very adaptable and has enjoyed going in the car to the patio at the local pub. He was happy to meet new people, watch the chickens walk around, and was not bothered by the sounds of the TV or anyone around him. He is not a kisser and will happily sit next to you or on your lap but you have to be the one to put him on and off furniture or have a ramp to make it accessible.
- Likes & Dislikes: Magic Brian really does enjoy just sitting and watching the world go by. He sits on the back patio looking at the squirrels or inside he finds the tiny window by the front door to watch the birds at the feeder. He also really enjoys chewing larger stuffed toys and rope toys. He is still learning that shoes are not toys. He is still a puppy so the house needs to be baby-proofed from cords.
- Training: Magic Brian has the makings of a little gentleman. He is doing GREAT at house training if let out frequently. He is good in the car and walks well on a leash, his feet notwithstanding. He is very curious and will try and open cabinets and puts everything in his mouth. He has made HUGE improvements but will still need guidance and patience as he is still a relatively young dog who is learning.
- Medical: Magic Brian doesn’t let his back paws slow him down! He has no special medical requirements and will just need his monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog.
- Other Animals: Magic Brian can be very afraid of other dogs, so he would need a home with other small, calm dogs only. He hasn’t been observed around cats, but his foster thinks he’d be OK with them.
- Children: Due to Magic Brian’s mobility issues, he would need a home with kind, understanding children only (ages 8-10+ or teens).
- Home: Magic Brian whines and cries when left alone. He will need someone (human or dog) to be home with him the majority of the time, as he has never been alone his whole life. Magic Brian cannot do stairs and he cannot swim, so he can’t be in a home where he would ever be unattended around stairs or a pool.
- Grooming: Magic Brian will probably need grooming about every 6-8 weeks.
- Overall: Magic Brian is getting his first taste of home life and so he needs a person who understands that and gives him grace.
Do you need a companion to take to pubs, to sit with you on the patio, and to cheer you on while you run errands? Then adopt Magic Brian! Visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with his foster family if it’s a match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption donation is $500.

Permanent Residents
Some of our dogs will stay in our care forever. Some have been through so much change and trauma in their lives that putting them through more change isn’t in their best interest, others may have medical needs or need hospice care – these dogs will remain in PPR foster care for the rest of their lives as Permanent Residents.
Apply To foster

When you invite a dog into your home, you provide the love, patience, and guidance to a little dog in need, and Poodle and Pooch Rescue provides the rest! We are responsible for all vetting, grooming, and medical needs the dog may have, all you have to do is treat the dog as if it’s your own.
